Embedded dashboards
Put a read-only, themed VoiceLens dashboard inside your own portal with one script tag: create an embed token, choose features, match your colours, remove branding.
An embedded dashboard is a read-only view of one workspace, rendered inside an iframe on a page you control: a client portal, an internal wiki, an ops screen. Viewers need no VoiceLens account. Each embed has its own token, theme, feature set and allowed origins, and agencies can remove VoiceLens branding entirely.
Create an embed
Open Embeds in the dashboard
Choose New embed, give it a name (for example the client's name) and pick the features it should show.
Configure the theme
Choose light, dark or automatic mode, and optionally override the background, surface, text, brand and accent colours and the font, or make the background transparent so your page shows through. The editor previews the result live.
Restrict origins
Add the origins (up to 20) that may frame the embed, such as
https://portal.example.com. Requests from other origins are refused.Set an expiry (optional)
Embeds can expire on a date; useful for client trials.
Copy the token
The token (prefix
ve_) is shown once. Paste it into the snippet below.
Creating embeds requires the Admin role. The number of embeds per workspace depends on the plan: 1 on Starter, 10 on Pro, 50 on Agency, 100 on Enterprise.
Add it to your page
<div data-voicelens-embed="ve_…" data-theme="auto" data-height="600"></div>
<script src="https://voicelens.app/embed.js" async></script>embed.js finds every element with a data-voicelens-embed attribute, replaces it with an iframe pointing at https://voicelens.app/embed/<token>, resizes the iframe to its content as the viewer navigates, and applies theme changes without a reload. Elements added to the page later are picked up automatically.
All attributes and the JavaScript API are in the embed.js reference.
What viewers see
Depending on the features you enabled:
- Summary: calls, average health, danger and warning counts, top faults for the workspace.
- Recent calls: a list of the latest completed calls with health and fault counts.
- Call detail: the scorecard for a call, with optional transcript, slots, coverage and audio playback.
- Activity: the health trend over time.
Everything is sanitised for external viewing: no member names, no tokens, no settings. The embed cannot change anything.
Theming and language
The theme lives on the embed configuration, and can be overridden per placement with data-* attributes, so one embed can appear dark on one page and light on another. The interface language follows data-lang when set, otherwise the embed's configured locale, otherwise the viewer's browser. Arabic renders right-to-left.
Branding
Embeds on the Starter plan show a small "Powered by VoiceLens" mark. On Pro, Agency and Enterprise it is removed, so the dashboard reads as part of your own product.
Security notes
- Embed tokens are read-only and scoped to one workspace. They can be revoked at any time from the Embeds page, which immediately breaks every placement using them.
- Set allowed origins on every production embed. Without them the token works from any page that has it.
- Public embed requests are rate-limited to 240 per minute per token.
- Audio playback is available only when the audio feature is enabled on the embed.
